APRI: Statistical analysis of fish populationsThe program allows the parameter estimation and simulation of natural population under explotation, under the assuption that the recruitment is relatively constant. This is the case, for instance, of population migrating from their native environment and being exploited in a different area.
APRI has been mainly developed for fish populations.
Two models can be developed: an age-structured model, in case data of the fishing effort are available for a series of years and, at least in one year, data on catchment and selectivity for each age class have been collected; or an age-independent model, when only the effort and the total catchment are available in a series of years. Both models allows the estimation of survival rates, catchability coefficients and recruitment.
